Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:As a Material Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and timely flow of materials throughout the manufacturing process. You will be responsible for inventory accuracy, material readiness, and coordination with cross-functional teams to meet production deadlines and cost targets. Your contributions will directly support on-time delivery, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement in a lean manufacturing environment.WHY JOIN OUR TEAM:

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Coordinate material planning and timely delivery to point-of-use (POU) locations
  • Monitor and manage MRP, including daily Order Action Summaries and message execution
  • Ensure accurate and timely release of work orders to manufacturing
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels, sub-inventories, and reduce obsolete/negative inventory
  • Support kitting activities and coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Partner with capacity planning to address over/underloads and support level loading or outsourcing
  • Ensure accuracy and timely implementation of Engineering Change Orders and Bill of Material (BOM) updates
  • Track and report on key metrics such as inventory accuracy, past due orders, capacity, and closed jobs
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to maintain up-to-date routings
  • Drive improvements in inventory processes and MRB (Material Review Board) compliance
  • Promote lean practices, 5S, and continuous improvement in the materials function
  • Support compliance with ISO procedures, work instructions, and company policies
  • Assist in achieving departmental budget goals (materials, supplies, labor, overtime)
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, materials planning, or inventory management preferred
  • APICS certification (e.g., CPIM, CLTD, CTSC, or CSCP) or enrollment is an asset.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments and levels
  • Proficiency in MRP systems (e.g. Oracle), Excel, and business communication tools
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
