Job Description

Carfair Composites is a leader in fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) design and composites technology and has dedicated team members located in facilities between Winnipeg, MB (Canada), St. Cloud, MN (USA), and Anniston, AL (USA), Wausaukee, WI (USA) and Gillett, WI (USA).Position: Composite Operator – Mold MaintenanceAbout the Role:As a Composite Operator in Mold Maintenance, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality of our fiberglass parts. You will use hand tools and equipment like orbital sanders and buffers to trim rough edges and perform repairs on molds, helping to keep our production process running smoothly.What You #39;ll Do:

  • Use pneumatic tools, hand tools, orbital sanders, and buffers to trim and shape fiberglass parts.
  • Ensure high mold quality to produce superior products.
  • Mix materials (putty, gelcoat, hardener) by hand to patch and fix defects.
  • Use a spray gun for small spot repairs on mold surfaces.
  • Maintain accurate records of mold maintenance work.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines, ensuring a safe workspace.
  • Care for tools and equipment by performing daily maintenance.
  • Support Lean and 5S initiatives to improve efficiency.
What You #39;ll Need to Succeed:
  • Experience using orbital sanders or buffers to sand fiberglass parts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and fix issues.
  • Ability to stand, reach, and bend for long periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize tasks.
  • Knowledge of structural repairs on gelcoat and fiberglass molds.
  • Initiative and sound judgment to make decisions on the job.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when needed.
