Job Description

Further information is available at www.newflyer.com.Position SummaryAs a member of our New Product Development Prototype Shop, you will provide driving services for testing and demonstrations of New Flyer buses. The position requires the evaluation of buses to ensure standards are met for safety, quality and customer satisfaction. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the engineering and operational processes that fuel the future of sustainable transportation.What you will do:

  • Move, drive, and park buses as required for testing and demonstration.
  • Conduct thorough inspections, perform operational tests, and document findings to ensure the buses are ready for the road.
  • Provide feedback to engineering on drawings, designs and theories of operations.
  • Assist fabrication equipment on test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot vehicles issues before and after road test.
  • Write reports and keep drivers log updated.
  • Help with general shop assistance, maintenance and cleaning.
  • Other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Must have a valid Manitoba class 2 driver’s license with airbrake endorsement.
  • Previous experience driving large vehicles or buses is preferred.
  • Proficient with Outlook and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics and maintenance practices.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, days, nights and weekends.
  • Ability to perform vehicle inspections and diagnostics.
  • Effective communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with the engineering team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to adhere to safety procedures.
  • Cross border travel is required.
