Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, you will provide critical support across various aspects of financial reporting, accounting, and auditing processes, including the preparation of public financial statements, management disclosures, and related regulatory filings. Your expertise in public accounting, financial analysis, and the preparation of complex financial documents will be essential in ensuring compliance, transparency, and the timely delivery of high-quality financial reports. You will play an integral role in helping to drive the financial integrity and transparency of the organization while supporting the company’s financial goals.WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Assist in the preparation and review of public financial statements in accordance with IFRS or relevant accounting standards.
  • Contribute to the development of management disclosures including those required for quarterly and annual reports, and any other regulatory filings.
  • Ensure that financial statements are accurate, complete, and comply with all reporting requirements for regulatory bodies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA), or other relevant authorities.
  • Assist in external audit processes, working closely with auditors to ensure that financial records are accurate and comply with auditing standards.
  • Participate in the development and enhancement of internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Support internal audits by providing accurate and timely financial information, and work to resolve any issues or discrepancies identified during the audit process.
  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate in the creation and revision of accounting policies and procedures, ensuring that all documentation adheres to regulatory and industry standards.
  • Analyze financial data to provide decision-support information for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning purposes.
  • Support the External Reporting Roadmap, ensuring that all relevant parties are kept informed of reporting deadlines, changes to reporting requirements, and any significant developments in financial reporting.
  • Ensure that financial disclosures comply with both internal governance standards and external regulatory requirements.
  • Work with various business units to provide accounting and financial reporting support and guidance.
  • Participate in special financial projects and initiatives as needed, such as business process improvements or system upgrades.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • CPA designation
  • Experience in accounting/audition with a strong knowledge of IFRS
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with advanced skills in MS Excel
  • Experience with Oracle, EPM/Hyperion considered an asset
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
