Job Description

POSITION SUMMARYAs an integral part of the Information Systems Technology Services Department, you will be responsible for providing a stable, secure and optimum performing platform in support of the Server related application while maintaining compliance with IT Governance objectives. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Monitor and manage the daily operations to ensure server and application availability in the absence of the operations group
  • Optimizes Server hardware and software for performance based on application requirements
  • Implement and maintain Anti-Virus protection architecture for the server systems
  • Implement and maintain disaster recovery processes and backup strategies
  • Define standards, policies and operational procedures relating to server and storage systems
  • Assist with the development of capacity forecasts and the identification of necessary infrastructure investments
  • Plan, implement and manage changes to the virtualization environments in conjunction with other storage and server administrators within the guidelines of the virtualization strategy
  • Other duties as assigned
RequirementsWHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Computer Science Degree, 2 year Computer Technology with combined experience to be considered
  • 5 years experience managing servers in an enterprise environment, managing virtual infrastructures with a good understanding of virtual networking, and managing an enterprise email system (MS Exchange)
  • Basic understanding of Linux System Administration considered an asset
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem solving skills
