Job Description

Job DescriptionPosition Summary:This is an essential position to assist maintenance and facility team. The position requires the operation of the plant boilers during the winter months and the above 8’ cleaning of the facility during the spring, summer and fall months. Shift:Winter Months: 12 hour shifts, 4 on 4 off (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)Summer Months: Sunday to Thursday Nights (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM)Accountabilities:

  • Duties include the maintaining of the boilers (Days, Evenings, Nights and Weekends) (loading, lighting, fire control, emergency reaction) Boiler operation requires 12 hr rotations.
  • The incumbent will ensure Department logs and records are maintained along with shop and work area being kept clean and orderly.
  • Ability to operate industrial equipment (skid steers, aerial lifts, forklifts)
  • Operating the boilers to maintain constant temperature throughout the facility
  • Will be required to do tool and saw sharpening (training will be provided)
  • Exposure to the Elements-Heat and Cold
  • Working at heights (aerial lift training and fall arrest training) to permit safe vacuuming above 8 feet
  • Ability to recognize and solve problems associated with maneuvering an aerial lift in tight quarters (including moving and returning product)
  • General mechanical and electrical knowledge (ability to recognize and notify others of issues around any newly found mechanical or electrical problems)
  • General Facility Maintenance duties
  • Ability to complete other minor mechanical tasks as assigned
  • General ability to understand / comprehend the 52 MBCI safety policies such that they are advocates of the always aware program
  • Other duties as assigned
