Job Description

Further information is available at www.nfi.partsPOSITION SUMMARYThe Buyer, Programs and Internal Supply is responsible for the execution of procurement initiatives within the NFI Parts organization to support transit and coach contract requirements. They will be responsible for the execution and coordination of contract deliverables for non-production requirements and manage and support procurement, warehouse order fulfillment, and communicate with stakeholders ongoing status of orders, delivering the best total cost derived from a best-in-class supply base, while ensuring that the overall goals of the company are achieved.WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Manages and executes procurement process to support transit and coach Customer Programs, with respect to the Parts Organization, including the procure to pay cycle, and coordinating delivery of orders to customers with Traffic and Warehouse Operations.
  • Manages sub-contract work with external and internal suppliers, including recognition of need, purchase order or internal requisition creation, coordinating delivery dates, dropship of subcomponents, and return of completed assemblies to the Parts organization.
  • Maintains a strong working relationship with Bid team specialists, CPM team members, and other cross functional areas to communicate ongoing status of orders to ensure optimal service to their end customers.
  • Negotiates as required and maintains professional relations with suppliers to contribute to the competitiveness of the business by optimizing purchases within the respective category.
  • Responsible for maintaining Purchasing databases to ensure integrity of system data and provide necessary information to Management team / other buyers as necessary.
  • Provide support within the organization with any purchasing related issues.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain management and/or a Purchasing related discipline
  • 1- 3 years of procurement or supply chain experience.
  • Experience in Strategic Sourcing, Purchasing, Negotiation and/or Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices and supplier management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
  • Experience of Oracle systems would be considered an asset.
  • Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
