Job Description

CARFAIR - COMPOSITE OPERATORCarfair Composites is a leader in fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) design and composites technology and has dedicated team members located in facilities between Winnipeg, MB (Canada), St. Cloud, MN (USA), and Anniston, AL (USA), Wausaukee, WI (USA) and Gillett, WI (USA). Further information is available at www.carfaircomposites.com.POSITION SUMMARY: The Composite Operator is responsible for using hand tools in lamination to build and fabricate fiberglass parts. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Preparing materials and molds for composite production
  • Using various manufacturing techniques, such as hand lay-up and vacuum infusion
  • Trimming, sanding, and finishing composite components
  • Following safety procedures and quality standards
  • Collaborating with colleagues to meet production targets and deadlines
  • Inspecting parts after de-molding for any non-conformities using rulers, micrometers, visual checks, or tapping to release bubbles or dead spots
  • Cutting required fiberglass materials to the proper size and shape using dies, templates, and cutout patterns
  • Using, maintaining, and repairing pneumatic equipment, such as spray guns, drills, and polishers, as well as any other tools or attachments
  • Providing support and adhering to all Lean and 5s initiatives
  • Documenting all non-conformities on a Corrective and Preventive Action Report and submitting the form to authorized personnel
  • Performing all related duties as required or assigned
Requirements
  • Have a preference for prior experience in composite manufacturing.
  • Possess knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing techniques.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Be experienced with various hand tools, such as pneumatic, electric, and manual tools.
  • Show excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Be capable of following instructions and working with minimal supervision.
  • Have basic computer skills.
  • Show a strong willingness to learn and develop new skills.
