Parrishamp; Heimbecker, Limited (P amp;H) has an opportunity for a motivated, forward-thinking, and dedicated individual as a Crop Inputs Merchant.This role can be based in either Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, or Ontario, with only one successful candidate being selected. Your RoleAs a Crop Inputs Merchant, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the merchandising strategy for crop protection and seed products.Day to Day
  • Lead the development and communication of a strategic plan for the crop protection and seed products business.
  • Indirectly manage Crop Inputs Managers and Crop Input Service Reps, with the goal of enhancing professional development, customer relationship management and sales growth.
  • Oversee the planning and forecasting function with Crop Input Managers to ensure timely and accurate plans.
  • Develop supplier relationships/distribution channels.
  • Oversee setting prices for Crop Protection and Seed products for locations.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop programs and effectively communicate program details and tactics to locations, working closely with the sales teams to ensure successful execution.
  • Manage logistics processes and coordinate with distribution partners to arrange trucking, warehousing, and proper storage of all products, ensuring timely availability during the season and efficient storage during the off-season.
  • Direct the allocation of products to the appropriate locations to ensure optimal sales targets are met.
  • Foster alignment across teams by clearly communicating organizational goals and ensuring all team members understand and are working toward them.
  • Continually learn and expand knowledge of new products, product updates, and regulations related to chemical and seeds.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in the agricultural field, specifically in crop inputs.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as AgriBusiness or Business Administration, is an asset.
  • Professional Agrologist (P.Ag.) or Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) designation (or the ability to obtain) is an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of crop protection products and agronomy.
  • Demonstrated customer service, sales, and negotiation skills, with strong relationship-building and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong leadership and influence skills, with confidence in decision-making and strategic thinking.
  • Experience in planning logistics and managing inventory is an asset.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 Application Suite.
