Job Description

Further information is available at www.newflyer.com.POSITION SUMMARYThe Director, Financial Planning and Analysis is a key business partner to the Motor Coach Industries and New Flyer Businesses to drive profitability and the attainment of financial targets. This position is responsible for assisting the organizations to monitor and achieve annual operating plans and management of critical cash functions. This position will prepare the annual budgets and oversee the related forecasting, reporting, and monitoring processes. The Director, Financial Planning and Analysis will work with multiple stakeholders’ business to promote financial knowledge, awareness and maintain effective controls.WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Oversee the cash invoicing and collection processes, including weekly cash forecasts.
  • Direct the preparation of the annual budget and AOP.
  • Prepare monthly forecasts of financial results.
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages, including reporting within the business and to NFI Group.
  • Provide relevant analysis and insight into overhead, SG amp;A, and production costs.Identify and implement cost-savings initiatives.
  • Provide relevant reporting, insight and analysis over company labour including efficiency reporting, rate analysis and bargaining support.
  • Oversee capital budgeting process and assist in multi-year cost forecast and development.
  • Provide operational and financial support to the North American Bus and Coach (NABC) management teams. Respond to information requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist with operational decision making and the assessment of strategic initiatives. Evaluate financial proposals associated with Capital investments.
  • Maintain and manage financial controls in accordance with NFI’s ICFR program.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • An accounting designation is required for this position (CPA).
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of driving financial performance and delivering results in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to provide insights into complex financial data.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and environmentally responsible practices.
  • Knowledge of IFRS, Oracle, and ICFR considered an asset.
