Find your future with us.Boeing Canada Winnipeg, is seeking Mid-Career Tool Designer, working out of the Winnipeg, MB office.The Mid-Career Tool Designer will to join the Boeing Winnipeg Tooling Engineering team which is responsible for managing the production tooling used in the production of aircraft components. The team coordinates with production operations, manufacturing engineering, tool design and procurement management to determine the tooling requirements and coordinate the design, purchase, fabrication, inspection and maintenance of the tooling. The new team member will solve complex and unique problems related to safety, ergonomics, defect reduction, cost improvement, rate increases, and more, by looking beyond current practices and using innovative thinking to discover opportunities and solutions.Position Responsibilities:Evaluates program and project requirements, develops complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System.Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates, identifies robotics, automation or technology recommendations and system integration for equipment and tooling.Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, prepares plans for productions readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares.Conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel.Develops and implements work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation.Performs studies and make recommendation for disposition of assets.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):3+ years manufacturing tool engineering/planning related experienceMust have working knowledge of Catia V5 or equivalent CAD/CAM softwareMust have post-secondary education in a related field (i.e. Certified Engineering Technologist (CET), or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of Engineering)Must be legally able to work in CanadaMust be eligible to handle US export-controlled dataIndividual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goodsPreferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):Related experience within the aerospace or manufacturing industry Experience with aerospace materials such as fiberglass, carbon fiber, and aluminumKnowledge of pneumatics, motion control, automation, and other mechanical disciplinesExperience in the use of machine shop equipment, fabrication, assembly and tooling practicesKnowledge of conceptual development of machines, tools, and/or processesUnderstanding of lean manufacturing principles and systematic problem solvingStrong communication and motivational skills with a diverse team in a dynamic work environmentTypical Education and Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. CET or Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years #39; related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years #39; related work experience).Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.Additional Information:This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada.
