Technical Translator (French)/Technical Writer This position is intended to combine translation duties and technical writing.●Translates documents from English to French.●Ability to read and understand the context of mechanical information or will train.●Revise and proofread existing documents to ensure accuracy.●Establish and maintain a lexicon of technical terms and standardized grammar.●Familiar with specialized CAT tools (Déjà Vu) and specialized dictionaries (Termium) as references for translating and proofreading French text is an excellent asset to have.●Research, plan, create and revise technical documents using approved data from multiple sources●Technical content being created or revised includes: service bulletins, installation instructions, operations and maintenance manuals.Job Requirements:Qualifications:●College diploma in technical communication; or equivalent experience.●Good planning, organizational, leadership, interpersonal, analytical, decision making, oral and written communication skills.●Shall have the ability to perform both individually and as part of a diverse team.●Consult with subject matter experts and other publication staff on writing and illustration requirements, production schedules, formatting specifications and delivery deadlines.●Knowledge of desktop translation and publishing software (Déjà Vu, InDesign, Frame Maker, Adobe Acrobat) and familiarity with Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator.●Exceptional research, grammatical and written communication skills, as well as excellent organizational and analytical skills.●Good computer skills. Open to learning new software specific to this roleCandidate should possess some mechanical knowledge or an expressed interest.●Experience in project management an asset.
