0.28 Music (Term) BULLETIN NUMBER: 777/T/23 DATE POSTED: December 5, 2023 SCHOOL: GLENWOOD SCHOOL POSITION DESCRIPTION: The term teaching assignment will commence January 8, 2024 or as soon as can be arranged to June 28, 2024 or one day prior to the return of the teacher being replaced, whichever occurs first. This teaching position requires an individual who embraces collaboration and “team-teaching” and who will model effective and visionary educational practices that nurture student needs to: explore and create; connect purposefully with nature and their environment; involve themselves directly in citizenship-based service learning opportunities in the community; and be engaged in rich curriculum-focused study of the world around them. We are looking for innovative teachers who share Louis Riel School Division’s philosophical beliefs. REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Permanent Manitoba Teaching Certificate • Bachelor of Education required • Bachelor of Music or related post-secondary preferred • Orff Certification Program, Level 1 preferred • Proficiency in facilitating programing that ensures student’s deeper learning through: o Knowledge and application of Manitoba Education curriculum o Design of instructional and assessment practices that engage student learning o Application of Indigenous teachings and perspectives o Programming for students who are English as an Additional Language learners o Knowledge, understanding and application of inclusive pedagogy o Use of inquiry/project-based learning o Promotion of innovation and creativity o Active collaboration between students and adults, and with colleagues, locally and globally o Inclusion of student voice and student choice o Leveraging technology as a learning tool APPLICATION PROCEDURES: The Louis Riel School Division is committed to employment equity and accessibility.
