Job Description

Machine Operator (MOP) - Press Brakes New Flyer is North America #39;s heavy-duty transit bus leader with various locations in North America.Offering the most advanced product line under the Xcelsior® and Xcelsior CHARGE™ brands. It also offers infrastructure development through New Flyer Infrastructure Solutions™, a service dedicated to providing safe, sustainable, and reliable charging and mobility solutions. Further information is available at www.newflyer.com.POSITION SUMMARYAs a member of the Machine Shop team, this position will be responsible for operating a variety of machinery, such as press brakes, flat sheet lasers, shears, tube lasers and tube bending, while adhering to company procedures.WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Operates shears, punches and brakes, and power hand tools.
  • Works effectively in a team environment.
  • Adheres to safety procedures as they apply to all equipment used in this position.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and/or process sheets.
  • Maintains accurate information flow to support our first-time quality initiatives.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Prior experience operating a press brake, shear and/or punch press is required for this position.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be flexible to work various shifts.
