We’re united by a shared commitment to excellent and equitable health care.The successful applicant may be eligible for an annual full-time incentive of up to $2,000 each year until 2024 as per MOU #31 of the current MNU collective agreement.Position OverviewReporting to the Program Team Manager, PD/RHC and under the clinical direction of the Site Coordinator, Nephrology, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of Seven Oaks General Hospital (SOGH), St. Boniface General Hospital (SBGH), and other sites within the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Manitoba Renal Program, the DIALYSIS ACCESS NURSE is responsible for the coordination of care related to dialysis accesses for the renal health patients, the peritoneal dialysis patients and the hemodialysis patients within the SOGH and SBGH Renal Programs. Experience Minimum three (3) years in Nephrology Nursing required. Peritoneal Dialysis Experience preferred. OR Experience preferred.Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Baccalaureate of Nursing preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Manitoba Nephrology Nursing course or equivalent required.Certification/Licensure/Registration Current C.R.N.M. registration required. CNA Certification in Nephrology Nursing preferred. Valid Manitoba Drivers’ License required. Qualifications and Skills Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Access software required. Prior experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of databases preferred. Demonstrated effective interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated clinical expertise. Ability to adapt readily to changing demands and situations. Demonstrated effective teaching skills. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently.Physical Requirements Good physical and mental health required in order to meet the demands of the position. May be required to occasionally work extended hours. May be required to work evening or weekends. May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress. May encounter aggressive and/or agitated clients/visitors/staff. Must be able to attend meetings on-site and off-site.This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
