Job Description

Cambrian Credit Union is searching for a Personal Banking Manager join our Retail Services team. As part of the branch leadership team, the Personal Banking Manager is responsible for the direct leadership of the personal banking team within the branch including coaching, development and performance management. The Personal Banking Manager will lead the achievement of all growth objectives by ensuring their team dutifully employs Cambrian’s corporate sales processes, readily adopt and integrate new tools and technology, regularly refer to partner business units, actively manage sales pipelines and display key behaviours related to member focus and teamwork. The Personal Banking Manager will lead the execution and monitoring of key sales and change initiatives in their branch and provide mentorship, support and knowledge for lending and investments, address escalated concerns, monitor the team’s sales performance and provide individual/team coaching to help achieve assigned sales objectives. The Personal Banking Manager will retain individual production goals, continuing to actively manage incoming leads, building and growing the portfolio through an in-depth review of the member’s financial picture, surpassing member’s service expectations, promptly and proactively engaging with members, and providing financial advice and solutions tailored to the member’s financial situation. The Personal Banking Manager supports the leadership and daily operations of the branch as a whole, acting as a back-up to the Member Services Manager with regards to timely frontline leadership needs and in-branch member challenges. In the role of Personal Banking Manager, you will:Provide leadership and expertise to the Personal Banking Advisors and branch by:Being the point person at the branch to answer questions related to products and services.With direction from the Regional Sales Manager, leading the implementation of key sales and change initiatives at the branch.Mentoring, monitoring and coaching Personal Banking Advisors to help them achieve assigned sales goals.Monitor branch sales performance and individual/team coaching as required.Communicate regularly with Regional Sales Manager to keep him/her informed of branch performance and any branch issues; work with Regional Sales Manager to resolve issues at the branch as they arise.Support the daily operations of the branch as a whole, acting as a backup to the Member Services Manager and supporting the frontline as needed.Quickly develop rapport and build lasting relationships with members, working to identify and understand their needs to provide appropriate financial advice and recommendations for more complex lending and investment requests. Properly document details of interactions so the member can be supported seamlessly across the organization. Where appropriate, engage the support of or make referrals to partner business units to meet the member’s comprehensive financial needs.Ask thoughtful financial questions and professionally engage members to create positive experiences and deepen their relationship with Cambrian. Leverage thorough knowledge and expertise with retail banking products and services to increase the member’s financial confidence and wellbeing, providing financial advice, answering questions and addressing any concerns.Actively promote, sell and service the full range of Cambrian’s products and services that meet the members’ needs; identify and close opportunities for cross selling and referring to partner business units; consistently deliver service excellence in all areas of member contact.Responsible for meeting and exceeding assigned sales goals through employing the corporate sales process, proactive sales techniques and sales management activities, including the development and monitoring of an effective pipeline of business opportunities and sales lead activities.Process a full range of member transactions including, but not limited to: opening accounts, credit cards, term deposits, lines of credit, mortgages, personal loans and related insurance products.Readily adopt and skillfully leverage technology and tools to reduce friction in the member experience and provide an end-to-end digital experience whenever possible.Your experience:Minimum 5 years of personal retail banking experience at a senior banking officer level. Demonstrated experience providing financial advice, with a strong focus on retail lending skills including thorough knowledge and understating of sound credit practices and retail lending processes. A sound knowledge of investments acquired through work experience, study and/or completion of the Canadian Securities Course or financial planning courses is a definite asset. Strong ability to utilize digital tools such as Video Banking, Chat, Coconut, Teams, OneSpan, Outlook, Microsoft Suite, Mobile Banking, Online Banking and others. Demonstrated leader who is able to achieve results through others by mentoring and coaching. Critical thinker who analyzes information and uses logic to address issues, problems and challenges. Ability to work well in an environment with multiple and often changing priorities.
