Job Description

Carfair Composites is a leader in fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) design and composites technology and has dedicated team members located in facilities between Winnipeg, MB (Canada), St. Cloud, MN (USA), and Anniston, AL (USA), Wausaukee, WI (USA) and Gillett, WI (USA).Further information is available at www.carfaircomposites.com.POSITION SUMMARY: The Prepper is responsible for using hand tools, including orbital sanders, to buff, sand, and prepare fiberglass parts for painting and finishing. This role involves ensuring that finished goods are ready for shipping.WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Prepare Materials: Get materials and molds ready for production.
  • Buff and Sand: Use orbital sanders to buff and sand fiberglass parts.
  • Follow Safety Rules: Stick to safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Work as a Team: Collaborate with your colleagues to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Inspect Parts: Check parts for any issues using rulers, and visual checks.
  • Repair Fiberglass Composite: Performs structural repairs to all fiberglass components
  • Use Tools: Operate and maintain tools like spray guns, drills, sanders and polishers.
  • Stay Organized: Support Lean and 5S initiatives to keep the workplace efficient.
  • Documenting all non-conformities on a Corrective and Preventive Action Report and submitting the form to authorized personnel
  • Performing all related duties as required or assigned
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Composite Manufacturing Experience: Prior experience is preferred but not required.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Tool Proficiency: Experience with pneumatic, electric, and manual hand tools.
  • Strength: Ability to handle heavy loads (minimum of 50 lbs), including lifting, pushing, and pulling, and to stand for long hours.
  • Manual Dexterity: Skilled with hands-on tasks.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving: Strong skills in both areas.
  • Independence: Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Tech-Savvy: Basic computer skills.
  • Eager to Learn: Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
