High Performance at NeoWe recruit, hire, and build our company culture around these attributes:Teamwork: We trust, respect, encourage, and show up for each other — through good times and hard. We’re on this mission not just for ourselves, but also for the people we work with — and ultimately, for our customers.Ownership: We all have a stake in Neo’s success — so we go out of our way to do what needs to get done. We hold ourselves accountable to deliver on our commitments — to our customers, to our partners, and to our team. When we fall short, we find a way to do better in the future.Professional Integrity: We’re asking millions of Canadians to trust us with their hard-earned money — so we hold ourselves (and each other) to the highest standards of integrity. Here’s what we know so far: you clicked to read more about the possibility of a “career pivot.”So, chances are, you’re a handful of years into your career, and it’s going… pretty well overall. (If it wasn’t, you would have made a change already). But you have the sneaking suspicion that there’s more you could be doing with your talents. You wonder if there’s maybe something else out there that would let you be more creative – thinking critically, solving new and challenging problems, and building something that matters. You’ve got a wide variety of skills, and your current job doesn’t give you the chance to use them all.You figure there must be more to a career than just having a job that pays the bills. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with having a “good job”...but wouldn’t it be more fun to be genuinely excited about what you do You’re ready to roll up your sleeves and really get to work building something meaningful, with a bunch of super talented and energetic teammates who are pumped to make a huge positive impact on the lives of as many Canadians as possible. Oh, and you want to win with the team – owning a meaningful piece of the company you’re building and participating in the financial upside of achieving your mission.Sound like you Keep reading. As a Product Manager at Neo, you’ll play in the space between software developers, our customers, our Operations and Finance and Legal and Marketing and Sales functions (in short, right at the heart of the business) – helping to define what our developers build, and why.More specifically, here are some of the things you’ll be doing:
  • Product Strategy: Working with leadership to develop a clear ‘what’, ‘why’amp; ‘when’ for the things we build – in terms of both software and the financial products that it powers.
  • Define the Problem: Before you can solve a problem, you have to define it correctly. This is where your analytical skills will shine.
  • Shape the Solution: Once you understand the problem (or more likely, set of problems) you’re solving, get to work on devising a solution. Time to get creative and clever.
  • Write it Down: Product Managers write. A lot. You’ll write to think, to solve, to share and to collaborate. You’ll write everything from high-level exploratory documents to detailed software requirements.
  • Execution: Work up close and personal with developers throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle, helping to answer questions and make decisions in search of the most elegant solutions to the problems we’re solving.
  • Working with People: developers, other Product Managers, colleagues in all parts of the business, company leadership, and customers. You’ll be the connective tissue between all the people that want our products to be great.
…and a lot more. But this should give you a flavour! Here are some things about you that might make this a great fit:
  • You’re biased towards action, take pride in your work and love getting sh*t done. You’re a lifelong learner and always adapt to new challenges.
  • You have a background in systems thinking or a related field, like maybe software development, actuarial science, business analysis, engineering, or data analytics.
  • You’re curious about what makes people tick, and what motivates them to interact with the products they use and the world around them in general.
  • You have excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • You’re frustrated by the customer experience of the big banks that dominate the market today, and want to break their hold by building something better.
  • You’ve worked in a startup or other fast-paced environment – or you’re super keen to
