For our business, for clients, and for you. SQL ProgrammerLocation: WinnipegDescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated SQL programmer to join our growing company. You will work as part of a broader team to design and create database structures suitable for quickly and efficiently storing and retrieving relevant data for company projects.As an SQL programmer, you will be expected to develop fast and performant database queries, in addition to performing database maintenance tasks and ensuring an even load distribution as required. Your duties will include following best database design and development practices, as well as staying up-to-date with all relevant data security procedures and complying with all applicable data protection legislation.Job specification

  • Write fast and performant database queries using a flavor of SQL Server
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving using JavaScript and other programming languages
  • Development, optimized, and implement stored procedures
  • Maintain and back up databases regularly
  • Maintain and monitor Log Shipping Jobs
  • Use database analytical tools to analyse performance and generate reports
Skills Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in software development, computer science, business intelligence, information technology, data management, or other related fields
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in SQL programming
  • Advanced knowledge of database procedures and Microsoft SQL Server concepts
  • Strong proven working knowledge of MSSQL, .Net and Java
  • The ability to create fast and efficient database queries, including joining and cross-referencing columns from several tables
  • Create and maintain database objects such as stored procedures, tables, views, triggers and indexes
  • Knowledge of XML is preferred
  • Experience in transaction processing in the hedge fund and mutual fund industry would be beneficial
  • Fundserv experience an asset not required
  • Excellent communication skills
