Job Description

Further information is available at www.nfigroup.com.Position Summary:As an integral part of our fast paced organization, you will be responsible for Canadian tax compliance, specifically, completion of calculations and monitoring of company’s tax surplus pools and foreign affiliate reporting requirements.You will also assist the Group Tax Director with quarterly tax provision requirements under IFRSWhat You Will Do:

  • Prepare the Canadian tax returns for all NFI Group business entities.
  • Prepare surplus calculations for all NFI Group Inc foreign affiliates.
  • Work closely with Treasury to monitor cash requirements and advise of permissible dividend flows.
  • Completion of T-1134’s for NFI Group Inc.
  • Canadian reporting for all foreign affiliate activities.
  • Gather and oversee the information supplied to the Canada Revenue Agency in respect of International audit requirements.
  • Develop and monitor the Reg.105 withholding process.
  • Complete and maintain NFI Group’s cash tax instalment requirements – and coordinate cash requirements with Treasury.
  • Assist in preparation of the quarterly tax provision using Longview tax provision software.
  • Assist the Group Tax Director in ensuring that all ICFR requirements are met.
Skills and Experience:
  • Accounting designation (CPA)
  • Completion of CPA In-Depth Tax program
  • International and US Tax experience is an asset
  • Previous experience with Canadian foreign affiliate reporting, Longview tax provision software and tax accounting under IFRS
  • Five years of direct relevant experience in an accounting or financial function
  • Advanced Excel skills required and knowledge of Oracle would be considered an asset
  • Superior presentation skills along with strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to converse in a professional manner and collaborate with all levels of the organization
  • Motivated self-starter with capabilities to work within a fast paced customer service oriented environment
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
