Job Description

Further information is available at www.newflyer.comPOSITION SUMMARY:As a key member of our Publications Team, you will create computer-generated illustrations and other artwork to be incorporated into the Parts and Service manuals, Operator Guides, or any other company requirement. Create 3D illustrations of components for technical illustrationsWHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Organize and complete assignments effectively following priorities set by the Project Coordinator.
  • Using computerized drawing software, create and prepare specific illustrations required in the manuals or any other artwork required.
  • Accurately create isometric and perspective illustrations using specialized software and established illustrating practices.
  • When required, research items will be illustrated by referring to the bill of materials, engineering drawings, and vendor descriptions.
  • Interpret specifications, engineering CAD, mechanical/electrical drawings, and sketches.
  • Create 3D models as required for technical illustrations.
  • Meet product specifications and compliance with work procedures and processes.
  • Perform quality control checks on all work.
  • Perform efficiently and effectively in a team environment.
  • Consult the Project Coordinator for clarification and information.
  • Upgrade skills on new or updated software when required.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
RequirementsWHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent working knowledge of specialized illustration software including Corel Designer, Corel Draw.
  • Good working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as NX, Pro-engineer
  • Five years minimum proven experience in creating complex technical illustrations in an engineering manufacturing environment.
  • Two years minimum proven experience creating 3D solid models.
  • Strong technical background in vehicle or aircraft systems and components. aspects of technical illustrating and department illustration standards.
  • Excellent understanding of engineering drawings and standard practices
  • Desktop PC Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) station with peripherals, printers, and general office equipment.
  • Excellent understanding of technical illustrating standards.
  • Computer literate in MS Office and Windows OS.
  • Well organized with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
