The Transactionsamp; Customs Representative, is a professional, demanding and highly accountable role in a logistics management environment. CN is looking for a self-motivated, organized professional who is driven to deliver top notch customer service to our team. Working to provide the accurate and timely processing of all trains at border locations, the Transactionsamp; Customs Representative monitors shipments to ensure traffic is cleared prior to arrival at the border or destination and ensures all manifests, waybilling and other regulatory information is updated and accurate. Main Responsibilities Customs · · Ensure trains are processed accurately and timely at all border locations · · Monitor shipments to ensure traffic is cleared prior to arrival at the border or at destination · · Familiar with the Automated Manifest System (AMS) and the customs applications · · Understand and able to transmit various Customs related EDI transactions · · Ability to coordinate solutions with various groups within and outside of CN · · Ensure CN meets its regulatory obligations for reports to Customs agencies · · Process, daily/weekly customs statistics. Familiar with US and Canadian Customs regulations · · Good analytical skills. Good communication and negotiating skills required resolving an array of customs related problems. EDI · · Must have a good knowledge of dimensional load regulations and holds/overloads procedures · · Intimate knowledge of diversion procedures · · Understand all applicable rules, tariffs and contracts related to the movement of goods · · Must have a strong working knowledge of waybill and the protection of all aspects of shipment movement information · · Sound knowledge of EDI mapping and how it relates to waybill and field reporting · · Strong knowledge of the electronic commerce industry standards · · Proficient in waybilling; Ability to correct EDI transaction errors Holds/Overload · · Familiar with field reporting and able to identify erroneous information through research · · Initiate daily and weekly reports. Ensure waybill information is transmitted · · Strong communication skills General Qualifications · · Must have successfully completed the selection, screening and training requirement for Waybill or Customer Support Representative. · · Must have the required skills in decision-making and must be customer oriented. · · Must be qualified in Service Reliability Strategies (SRS) and procedures. · · Must be proficient typist; operate a computer terminal and common office equipment. · · Must be proficient in Outlook email and CIC system. · · Ability to work under stringent deadlines to protect on time train movement, company revenues, Intermodal dispatch, terminal and rail operations. · · Must be able to work without constant, direct supervision. · · Must be certified under “Transportation of Dangerous Goods regulations” (Level 2 – TO4202).
