Your RoleAs Transportation Coordinator, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the coordination and scheduling of grain shipments via ground transportation, ensuring the efficiency of grain movement to end-use customers and terminal locations. Day to Day
  • Communicate and align current and future needs with railways and schedule as per customer and vessel requirements.
  • Collaborate with P amp;H locations and related departments to ensure timely execution of sales and shipments.
  • Manage private car contracts and accessorial charges from railways.
  • Validate and submit railway invoice payments, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions.
  • Prepare and verify customs documents, customer orders, rail service plans and daily reports.
  • Update internal systems and maintain reports detailing shipment statuses, current rates, and data trends.
  • Maintain seamless integration with other departments, fostering a culture of respect and a positive, progressive environment for all employees and customers.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation coordination, with strong negotiation and strategic planning skills.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as AgriBusiness or Business Administration.
  • Experience or knowledge in the agricultural industry, particularly with commodities, is an asset.
  • Outstanding customer service, and communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills to proactively identify issues and provide viable solutions to problems.
  • Ability to build strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 Application Suite, with a high proficiency in Excel and the ability to adapt to new software’s.
