Job Description

MCI is North America’s public and private market motor coach leader. Further information is available at www.mcicoach.com.POSITION SUMMARYThis unionized position works with various types of metal and uses a variety of welding techniques to fabricate coach components and frames. WHAT YOU WILL DO:This unionized position works with various types of metal and uses a variety of welding techniques to fabricate coach components and frames.Throughout all aspects of this role you will promote a safe working environment and comply with all HS amp;E regulations including following all Plant and Plant Safety rules.

  • Responsible for welding various types of metals using a variety of welding techniques to fabricate coach components and frames using MIG, TIG and STICK welding techniques and strict quality guidelines.
  • Grind and solder coach components
  • Responsible for following all work instructions and interpreting welding specification, blue prints and/or drawings
  • Any other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Canadian Welding Bureau certification (CWB ticket) an asset
  • Read and understand work instructions
  • Interpret blue prints or drawings
  • Previous manufacturing experience considered an asset
  • Experience working with solvents and pretreatment chemicals an asset
  • Post-secondary training with experience operating air plasma and oxy-acetylene equipment is preferred
  • Strong understanding of shop floor safety
  • Experience with aluminum welding an asset
  • Need to pass MCI Weld Test
