As a key leader role within the Financial function, this position is responsible for leading the periodic, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements. You will be expected to identify key priorities and make solid decisions based on sound business principles and professional judgment ensuring that regulatory compliance is maintained.· Drive excellence in all aspects of reporting (statutory and management); Champion financial statement review and review of periodic/quarterly/annual financial reporting. · Lead day-to-day operation of accounting department ensuring financial transactions are accurate and in accordance with policies, contractual requirements, and other applicable regulatory orders. · Review and ensure that all cross-charges to franchisees, and other external stakeholders are completed on time while maintaining internal cash flow requirements. · Partner with HR cross-functionally to take full ownership of the payroll process, including but not limited to, tax and statutory requirements and reporting in accordance with the Employment Standards Act of Ontario. · Finance relationship lead for Area Representatives and manage the process for sales reporting, collections and training as required.· Review account reconciliations, inclusive of capital spend and impairment. · Relationship lead to our AR and AP partners in the US; ensure all responsibilities are discharged. · Lead tax reporting to our US team and engage with external consultants in the preparation of annual corporate tax returns, periodic sales tax filings and non-resident tax filing requirements. · Lead both internal and external audit and review engagements. · Daily cash management; oversee cash forecasting to the US Treasury team and provide an update to the leadership team on a quarterly basis. · Establish accounting and control procedures to ensure a robust and compliant internal control environment. · Engage cross-functionally on strategic projects through providing guidance, knowledge, and information to support decision making. · Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, or Accounting· CPA designation is required · Retail, hospitality or foodservice industry background preferred · 6+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience in industry · Excellent organizational skills and the ability to self-prioritize unexpected projects and timelines· Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written · Strong leadership and influencing skills are essential · Highly motivatedquot;Go-getter quot; with a strong drive for continuous improvement and positive attitude · Sound business acumen, strategic thinker, and analytical skills with a growth mindset · Strong system capabilities: Hyperion Financial Management, JD Edwards, Microsoft Excel · iPayables, DOMO, OLAP, HFM/FDM, KRISE, Oracle, Nexonia experience considered an asset Robert Half is the world #39;s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
