Job Description

Your opportunity:Our client, Oxford Milkway Transport Co-op is seeking a strong, organized leader to join their team in Woodstock, Ontario. Reporting to the CEO, this role will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, ensuring that procedures are followed and carried out safely and properly. Additionally, the hands on General Manager will find ways to contribute to the overall success by making sure daily operations run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Responsible for the administration, fleet and maintenance staff.The overall human resources, including recruitment of company staff, employee development, orientation, training, performance evaluation, and employee relations.Report to the CEO on human resources related issues on an as needed basis.Develop, update and obtain approval from the CEO on changes to policies and/or procedures.Recommend Capital purchases – budgets, oversight; obtain approval from the CEO.Oversee accounting/financial activities and efforts to supervise cash management activities.Responsible for approval of invoices, payroll and producer payments.Develop budgets and plans, to meet company revenue and profitability goals.Back-up to the CEO with the Board of Directors on an as needed basis for reporting purposes.Identify and respond to changes in the business environment while recommending and establishing plans to address issues and priorities, ensuring effective communication to the CEO.Maintain OMTA and DFO relations.Develop and maintain effective relationships with Producers.Work with external advisors including; DFO, OMTA, and other advisors; maintaining positive relationships.Develop and monitor annual business plan in collaboration with management staff.Initiate and facilitate new projects annually in collaboration with the CEO.Act as key internal company representative, demonstrating excellent communication skills.Handle elevated customer service issues and incidents.Demonstrate leadership skills, with a superior ability to make things happen through the use of impact and influence, negotiation and collaboration among cross-functional groups.Maintain a working knowledge of the industry, emerging technologies and overall strategic objectives.Develop proposals for new business opportunities.Ensures the company maintains high standards of social and environmental responsibility.Work with the CEO; provide input with the annual operating budgets.Provide leadership and direction including performance management and motivational support.Ensure that quality standards and business efficiencies are maintained.Promote and maintain a safe work environment, supporting the Health & Safety Committee.Additional duties as assigned.Qualifications:Business Management Diploma and/or 5 years previous experience (industry experience is a strong asset)Solid experience reading and communicating maps, routes and producer location intricacies (yard & driveway specifications, objects, uniqueness).Knowledge of MTO Regulations, ESA, Federal Labour Act, DFO policies/procedures.Solid management experience.Bulk Tank Milk Graders Certification.Confined Space Certification, First Aid Certified, Health & Safety Awareness (Supervisor).Lock Out/Tag Out Certification.Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Highly driven, committed, organized and flexible.Self-motivated.Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.Meticulous attention to detail.Strong analytical skills.Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.Working Remote: Not availableWe thank all those interested in this opportunity; however only those that meet the job qualifications will be considered for this role.We welcome and encourage applications from people with disabilities.
