Assignment:• School Counselor - 1 Vacancy - Grade 9 - 12Role:The School Counselor with the Tri-County Regional Centre for Education will be responsible for the coordination of the comprehensive counselling program within a school(s) focusing on preventative and responsive programs and services. These programs and services must be principally concerned with the personal, social, educational and career needs of all students, placing priority on the best interest of students. Consistent with the Department of Education and Tri-County Regional Centre for Education policies, the School Counsellor will work within an established framework for the delivery of specialized services to students. Working collaboratively in a team environment, the School Counsellor will demonstrate a strong commitment to the school improvement process in support of student learning and reports directly to the School Principal(s). Required Qualifications and ExperienceValid Nova Scotia Teacher Certification Master of Education Degree in Counselling Training in Restorative Approaches Training in Trauma Informed Practises Experience teaching at an secondary level Experience as an secondary school counsellor Proven ability to communicate and work alongside diverse cultural and racial backgrounds Demonstrated ability to value the voice and contribution of others while remaining open to corrective criticism Completion of WHMIS and First Aid, or willingness to obtain upon hireOnce You #39;ve Applied:Thank you for your interest in this position.
