Children Services Worker - HUM012045Employment Type: Expression of Interest for SGEU Term less than 9 monthsLocation(s): SK-Central East-YorktonMinistry: 036 Social ServicesSalary Range: $28.962-$36.299 HourlySalary Supplement: included in hourly salary range (in-scope)Grade: SGEU.08.The Ministry of Social Services, Child and Family Programs division requires a Children Services Worker. The position available is located in the Yorkton and will provide services under the Authority of The Child and Family Services Act and The Adoption Act. You will provide a range of services designed to provide protective, preventative and support services to extended families, alternate caregivers, foster parents, adoptive parents, plus children and their families using the P.R.I.D.E. model and the Family Centered Case Management Model of practice.As a Children Services Worker, you will be responsible for delivery of services, which include casework and resource planning related to a variety of programs for children in care, extended family caregivers, and or foster families. You will work effectively and positively with co-workers, supervisors, the regional management team and caregivers to support regional directions that continuously improve or enhance service delivery to children and their families. You may be required to deliver training or facilitate groups for educational/support purposes. You may conduct intensive home studies for prospective extended family based caregivers, foster parents, adoptive families, and/or facilitate placements and provide post-placement support and maintenance.You may provide support to caregivers to develop planning for children’s best interests and work with them in establishing the supports they require. You may work with foster parents and or extended family caregivers to plan and prepare the child’s return home. You will act as a liaison and consultant where required, with First Nations Child & Family Services Agencies and other community agencies, on matters relating to service delivery and decisions regarding children. When required, you will be expected to represent the unit, Ministry and region on various agency, community or internal committees. You will be required to travel throughout the city and rural area and work flexible hours.To qualify for this position, you will possess a Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work, or an equivalent Bachelor of Social Work degree from an accredited university, as approved by the SASW or CASW/CASWE.Candidates must clearly indicate in their cover letter or resume where they have acquired their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
