Job Title: Community Educator/ Program FacilitatorOrganization: Society for the Involvement of Good Neighbours (SIGN) See www.signyorkton.caYorkton SK CanadaProgram: Next Steps, Sexual Violence Counselling programHours: 28 hours per weekLocation: YorktonStart Date: January 2023The Program Facilitator/ Community Educator position requires the individual to be dynamic, independent and interactive. This position has two roles: Promoting the SIGN Next Steps, Sexual Violence Counseling program services while providing prevention and awareness education and information sessions around the issues of sexual violence and abuse; and developing and presenting cultural programming with Elders and volunteers for Indigenous families and individuals in Yorkton.Why work for SIGN· Help to prevent sexual violence and support learning of Indigenous culture;· Work/life balance; Paid day off once a month;· Employer paid health and dental planExpectations:

  • Facilitate and present required information effectively and appropriately to the audience;
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to communicate complex and sensitive information;
  • Competency with computers and A/V equipment and with Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Organize, schedule, prepare for and attend community education and cultural programming opportunities and events;
  • Research and create programs and resource packages;
  • Work independently and collaboratively with other professionals;
  • Be reliable and flexible to meet the demands of the position;
  • Perform tasks to achieve outcomes and meet deadlines;
  • Maintain confidentiality;
  • Source out and apply for programming grant opportunities;
Qualifications and experience:
  • A post-secondary education in a human service related field or an equivalent combination of work experience and education;
  • A Valid Driver’s License and a safe, reliable vehicle;
  • Experience in planning and facilitating groups is preferred;
  • A recent (6 months or less), clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
