EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYCommunity Enhancement Program CoordinatorCommunity Enhancement Program Coordinator will work to enhance existing health programs within First Nations communities by working alongside other front-line workers to provide connection and outreach services to families, youth, and community members.Skills: · Excellent group facilitation skills

Responsibilities: · To coordinate and supervise the Community Outreach Workers in each of the six YTC First Nations communities.· Educational sessions, healing circles, community engagement sessions· Coordinate training to address trauma.· Plan and coordinate events in the communities alongside other health programs within the communities.
  • Assist the communities to provide outreach services to families, children and youth and network with community programs and services.
  • Coordinate land-based healing activities and provide land-based programming to six member communities.
  • Develop and set up land-based teaching sites.
  • Assist communities to provide support services for clients with mental health and addictions.
  • Coordinate workshops on a variety of topics focusing on mental health, youth, addictions, life skills, etc.
  • Develop and follow an annual work plan that outlines activities to be completed throughout the year.
  • Provide consistent programming in accordance with a yearly work plan.
  • Develop surveys which focus on evaluation of program activities.
· Engage community elders in each community to provide elder support and traditional teachings.· Assist the community front-line workers to coordinate educational sessions, healing circles, community engagement sessions.Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 Diploma or Equivalent and/or two to five years work experience working in the Mental Health and Wellness Field
  • Post-secondary Education in Mental Health or Addictions
  • Able to work effectively with families, and other health care staff at the community level
  • Able to work with a team, as well as independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A valid Driver’s License a dependable vehicle is required
