Facility Service Worker - INS002326Employment Type: SGEU Term 9 months or moreLocation(s): SK-Central East-YorktonMinistry: 013 Saskbuilds and ProcurementSalary Range: $20.2670 - $25.903 HourlyGrade: SGEU.04.The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement, Southern Region, maintains and operates the Orcadia Adult Male Facility located 14 km west of Yorkton on Highway 16. We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative Facility Service Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with the operation and maintenance of buildings and grounds on the 327-acre site.Under the direction of the Building Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • providing the day-to-day maintenance of the heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems;
  • maintaining a preventative maintenance schedule on mechanical equipment;
  • performing minor maintenance in the building;
  • ensuring safety of the buildings, occupants and public at the site;
  • providing security of the building when on shift; and
  • performing assigned client requests.
The successful candidate will also have a working knowledge of building operations and maintenance along with the standard methods, materials, tools and practices of carpentry, plumbing and electrical systems. You must be in good physical condition to perform a variety of manual activities and operate heavy-duty grounds equipment, climb ladders and lift heavy objects.You will have the ability to perform minor building repairs and maintenance as well as inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair problems to restore operation. You will be required to operate heavy-duty grounds equipment.To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a valid driver’s licence and fireman’s certification.The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement offers dynamic and challenging work for talented individuals in an environment that supports innovation, creativity and diversity.
