Job Description

We value focusing on the producer, innovation, teamwork and community, accountability to ourselves and others and leadership at all levels.WHAT YOULL DO:Reporting to the Customer Service Office Manager, this position is responsible for the following:

  • Provide training and leadership to adjusting staff on SCIC programs, initiatives and customer service techniques.
  • Provide daily coaching and monitor work assigned to adjusting staff.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of inspections and corresponding documentation.
  • Perform all types of claims/inspections which requires the individual to climb bins.
  • Become directly involved in fieldwork dealing with dissatisfied customers or problem situations.
  • Conduct field training and ensure staff is aware of policy and procedure changes.
  • Assist the Manager with the recruitment and selection of adjusting staff.
  • With recommendations from the manager, complete and conduct performance evaluations for adjusting staff.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions to keep updated on corporate and agricultural changes.
  • Participate as a member of the sales team for the annual sale of the Crop Insurance program.
WHAT YOULL NEED:The knowledge and skills required for this position are acquired through completion of a diploma in the field of Agriculture and/or Business with a minimum of three years combined experience in the administration and delivery of agriculture business risk management programs. Consideration may also be given to those with an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other qualifications include:
  • Detailed knowledge of farming practices and crops along with awareness of emerging trends in the agricultural industry.
  • Demonstrates integrity with a focus on service excellence and innovation.
  • Excellent supervisory skills, demonstrated through effective leadership.
  • Effective decision-making, judgment and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
  • Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner when dealing with situations that may be confrontational in nature.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely explain complex policies and procedures and document claim results in detailed reports.
  • Knowledge of and experience with computers, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

In addition, the successful candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and have a suitable vehicle to carry out responsibilities.
