About usBig Brothers Big Sisters of Yorkton and Area enables life-changing mentoring relationships to ignite the power and potential of young people. Our vision is that all young people realize their true potential. We provide mentoring for Young People who face adversity and who are in need of an additional consistent and supportive developmental relationship.Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yorkton and Area is seeking a full-time Mentoring Coordinator.The incumbent will assist with coordinating our mentoring programs including in person and virtual programming. The incumbent will be responsible for the screening and matching of volunteer mentors, intakes of youth plus the monitoring of matches to ensure the healthy development of the relationships. As well, the Mentoring Coordinator will assist with the planning and implementation of fundraising and promotional events as requested. Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • liaise with schools, other youth service agencies, other community groups, clubs or the public in general as required
  • assist with recreation events as required
  • complete a yearly performance appraisal including goals and objectives for the coming year
  • remain aware of federal and provincial privacy legislation and the agency’s privacy policies and practices
  • assist with group programming and recreation events as requested
  • assist with funding applications and fundraising as requested.
Knowledge and Required Skills:*2 year diploma in a related field eg. education, social or human sciences, child and youth work, family studies etc...*May be a 3rd year Social Work student currently enrolled in an education program.*Specific training in understanding human growth and development and interpersonal skills*volunteer program management with experience in volunteer management, recruitment and supervision of volunteers is an asset;*Being a positive role model and able to interact in a positive supportive manner with youth, volunteers and community members.The applicant must reside in Canada and be a permanent resident of Canada or Canadian citizen.Proposed start date: September 15, 2021For more information regarding the services we provide www.yorkton.bigbrothersbigsisters.caContract length: 12 monthsApplication deadline: 2021-09-03Expected start date: 2021-09-15Job Types: Full-time, ContractSalary: From $36,400.00 per yearBenefits:
