St. Andrew’s United Church, Yorkton Office and Communications Manager St Andrew’s is a community of faith located in Yorkton SK. St. Andrew’s currently employs a full time Minister, a part time Music Director and a part time Business Manager. We have an opening for a part time Office and Communications Manager to be a part of this team.Job Description Job PurposeThe Office and Communications Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient management of communications and assigned administrative duties in support of St. Andrew’s United Church community of faith.Accountability· Takes direction from the Ministry and Personnel Committee and the Minister· Is accountable to the Leadership Team through the M&P CommitteeOffice Duties. · Performs a walk-through check of the building upon arrival and report any anomalies tothe property committee· Manages incoming and outgoing correspondence, emails and phone messages· Gives clerical support to the Minister and Business Manager· Updates music licensing weekly.· Receives, processes and files signed and dated minutes of Leadership Team meetings. and the minutes of the Annual General Meeting· Maintains St. Andrew’s membership database in Servant Keeper· Tracks keys to the building· Sends the monthly ad complete with events listed to Yorkton This Week· As needed:- Works with the minister to produce edit and printweekly bulletins, worship books and PowerPoint- Orders office supplies- Posts to social media- Organizes volunteers for various Church activities.- Works with the Minister and Business Manager to complete statistical forms for the United Church of Canada.- Compiles and prints the annual report- Designs and prints offering envelopes and pew cards· Other duties as assigned by the M&P committeeCommunications· Supports communication within the Leadership Team and the Community of Faith asrequired· In consultation with the Minister and the Moderator of the month, sends out email toThe Leadership Team that includes agenda, financial reports and any documentsrequired prior to the Leadership Team meeting.· Maintains and updates the Church calendar· As needed:- Manages the information on the outdoor sign.- Sends the monthly ad with events listed to Yorkton This WeekRequirements · Grade 12 diploma· Current police records check· Drivers licenseSkills· Computer skills, including working with Word and Power Point· Working with social media and websitesAbilities· Excellent communication and interpersonal skill· Excellent time management skills· Ability to work independently· Ability to be a strong team memberAssets· Recent experience working with a nonprofit organization· An understanding of the culture of a Church community· An awareness of current social issuesTerms of Employment

  • Employment including assignments and duties will be reviewed after 6 months
  • Employment is based on a twelve (12) hour work week
  • The salary for this position is $21 per hour to be paid monthly
  • Annual reviews, vacation and other leaves are established and reviewed by the Ministry and Personnel Committee and approved by the Leadership Team
  • The Office and Communications Manager is entitled to three weeks of vacation time, to be taken giving reasonable notice and in consultation with the minister and the Ministry and Personnel Committee
  • Compassionate leave: when a member of the Church Administrative Assistant’s immediate family dies, the Administrative Assistant is entitled to one week of bereavement leave. St. Andrew’s offers two (2) of the workdays as paid leave. Immediate family is defined as: partner or spouse, parent or grandparent, child, grandchild, brother or sister or the spouse of the brother or sister, the partner or spouse’s parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, brother or sister or the spouse of the brother or sister.
  • Maternity or paternity leave, adoption leave, statutory holidays and layoffs will be determined by the minimum standards of the Labour Standards Act.
  • When resigning a notice of thirty (30) days is required, in writing to the Chair of the Ministry and Personnel Committee
