Job Description

Harvest Meats is a leader in meat processing, with over 90 years of innovation, dedication and quality. Our facility in Yorkton Saskatchewan produces all of the Harvest Meats products sold and distributed across Canada, which currently is about 150 different products including 50 types of sausage.We are currently recruiting for a full-time permanent Order Desk Clerk to join our team at the Yorkton facility. We are looking for individuals that can demonstrate great skill and knowledge in a fast paced environment.Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform receptionist duties including but not limited to greeting visitors (truck drivers, staff members, visitors), directing their questions, answering phone calls, using the paging system, answering questions
  • Communicate and relay information via email and phone to various internal departments at Harvest Meats on a regular basis, including but not limited to Production Planning, Shipping, Sales & Marketing, HACCP; frequent communication also required to customers, carriers, etc
  • Research and answer questions regarding shipping schedules
  • Process orders accurately and promptly to ensure correct invoicing
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, staff and the public
  • Process complex payment terms
  • Generate reports, US export paperwork, etc. with accuracy and timeliness
  • Enter payments, collect cash and cheques, and perform daily cash out duties
  • Ensure integrity and confidentiality of financial information
  • Provide support to internal department
Requirements:
  • Previous reception, office and/or bookkeeping work experience considered an asset
  • Exceptional customer service skills, including ensuring constant politeness, courtesy, professionalism, and strong communication and listening skills
  • Strong ability to problem solving and make decisions confidently and independently
  • Adaptable and open to continuous change
  • Ability to learn and use a variety of different computer systems and software
  • Ability to memorize and quickly reference important and frequent information (such as truck codes, routes, manifest codes, shipping and receiving schedules, etc.)
  • Effective team-player skills, and willing to help in many areas
  • Excellent multi-tasking, prioritization, and organizational skills, in a busy work environment that sometimes has multiple interruptions
Job Type: Full-timeAdditional pay:
  • Bonus pay

Schedule:
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Yorkton, SK: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
  • Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
  • Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
  • Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
