Job Description

Seeking a Technical Sales Representative at our Yorkton,Saskatchewan location. If you have a background in industrial manufacturing and distribution and are the kind of person who can talk with everyone from the CEO to the maintenance man on the shop floor, we want to talk with you!The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for new supplier development.
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Prospect for new suppliers, set appointments and demonstrate product and service benefits
  • Monitor Material Inventory and Source and Procure
  • Develops strategic relationships with suppliers to identify and leverage the business goals, growth strategies, and profit drivers and deliver the appropriate value proposition strategy
  • Work with management to develop purchasing strategies and new supplier prospects
  • Respond to product and service inquiries
  • Engage in direct purchase activities
  • Promote existing and new products and services
  • Anticipate client direction and objectives for forecasting of purchases
  • Maintain cooperative and productive team relationships
  • Attend training and sales meetings as required
  • Meet or exceed targets
  • Preference will be given to individuals that show a positive demeanor, a mechanical aptitude and have purchasing experience in a minimum of 2 of the following industries being forestry, industrial, agricultural, mining
  • Expertise in Hydraulic Cylinders, Fluid Power and or Fluid Conveyance business segments
  • Be customer service oriented
  • Ability to prospect for new vendors, very comfortable in cold calling
  • Maintain vendor relations and build new relationships
  • Self motivated and the ability to work independently
  • Meet or exceed annual goals, comfortable in using a CRM tool
  • Completion of post-secondary education an asset but nothing replaces experience
Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSchedule:
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Yorkton, SK: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
  • purchasing: 1 year (preferred)
