Regional Manager - AGR000737Employment Type: Permanent Full-timeLocation(s): SK-Central East-Yorkton SK-South East-WeyburnMinistry: 001 AgricultureSalary Range: $7603-$9882 MonthlyGrade: MCP.08.The Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Services Branch, has an exciting and challenging opportunity available to provide leadership in the delivery of agricultural extension services that drives sustainable growth and helps producers stay competitive in a global market.Reporting to the Director of Extension, the Regional Manager will be an integral member of the management team providing leadership, strategic direction, and management to a team of employees engaged in the delivery of programs and services that promote the growth and sustainability of the agriculture industry. The successful candidate will have knowledge of current agriculture trends and issues in Saskatchewan and Canada. The Regional Manager will be assigned two regional offices and will have a permanent office space in Weyburn or Yorkton. You will lead regional staff in the delivery of client-focused, comprehensive agriculture extension, directed at demonstrated applied research and tech transfer, program awareness, and building public trust.Your management experience will demonstrate the ability to manage capital and human resources including coaching and motivating employees from a distance to achieve strategic results. In addition, you must be an excellent communicator, be strategic and possess superior leadership, communication, and public relations skills.The expertise required for this position would typically be achieved through a degree in agriculture combined with several years of relevant management experience or a combination of education and experience.The ministry’s deep-rooted values system of Innovation, Teamwork, Integrity, Service Excellence and Leadership at all Levels serve as the foundation to ensure results are achieved.
