Job Description

The Yorkton Tribal Administration Inc. is seeking highly motivated individuals for contract positions of School Improvement Coordinator. Work with all YTC schools to develop a School Improvement Plan that reflects the unique needs of each community as well as to provide policy development support to YTC member First Nations, if/when required. Must be willing to work in cooperation with school principals and classroom teachers to implement supportive interventions designed to improve literacy skills. Each worker will consult with the respective First Nation school principals and report to the Director and/or Assistant Director of Education for extra duties as required by the First Nation schools.Qualifications:

  • Must have B.Ed., Masters preferred. an equivalent combination of experience and training will be considered.
  • Professional A teaching certificate and asset.
  • Experience with elementary literacy instruction
  • Experience with inclusive education & assessment and interventions.
  • Must be willing to travel and must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
  • Work irregular or extended hours to complete special requests and/or projects
  • Must manage a number of people, priorities and projects at one time, and may have to respond to emergency or crisis situations
  • The environment requires excellent organizational, time management and stress management skills
