We meet clients’ basic needs for food, shelter, and clothing and develop collaborative, customized plans with the client to help them build better lives for themselves.About the role:The Ministry of Social Services’ Service Delivery Branch requires a highly skilled permanent full-time Supervisor located in the Yorkton Service Delivery office. The successful candidate will provide supervision, guidance and coaching to Income Assistance Service Delivery staff to ensure effective, compassionate, and non-judgmental client service to individuals with varying needs, issues, and concerns.You will be a positive role model to staff that provide in person service to Income Assistance clients and be aware of systemic barriers such as impacts of poverty and socio-economic issues. Experience with Human Resource practices, such as recruiting and sustaining employees and dealing with stress in the workplace, is also required. You are required to have a minimum of one year experience in employee supervision.You will have knowledge of relevant community services and principles of Social Work. The ability to problem solve, organize and prioritize work in order to manage fluctuating work volumes/workflow is necessary. It is required the successful candidate has experience in dealing in person with clients who display a broad range of emotions and behaviors.You will be responsible to lead a team that works closely with diverse clientele to help them maximize their independence, autonomy, and quality of life. You will provide leadership, orientation and training to unit staff who are assessing clients through a strength-based and solution-focused case management model while utilizing motivational interviewing to assist client’s in making changes. You will guide your unit who are developing, implementing, evaluating, and adjusting case plans in collaboration with the client to establish goals, and meet diverse needs.Typically, the knowledge required for this position would be obtained through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Social Work, Indigenous Social Work, or related human services course of study.You will have demonstrated the ability to:
