Job OverviewOur manufacturing operations are seeking expertise and leadership in the new role of Supply Chain Lead. This position is located in Yorkton, Saskatchewan.The Supply Chain Lead’s key responsibility is to support and complement the efforts of the Production team. The goal is to continuously improve the Company’s ability to source and receive quality materials and purchased parts in a timely and cost-effective manner so that the Company can consistently meet production targets, customer commitments, and cost objectives.Education/Experience: At least 10+ years of experience in roles within a manufacturing or processing environment is preferred in roles such as buyer, purchaser, or procurement. Post-secondary education in engineering, business, or a related discipline is welcome. Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in a metal manufacturing environment. Experience in the material module of the ERP system is an asset.Duties: · Plan and implement the overall supply chain strategy;· Continuously develop and qualify new vendors who offer equal or better quality, terms, service and/or backup support;· Reduce lead time of inputs and/or build sufficient safety stock to ensure continuous production;· Ensure the whole supply chain process (sourcing new vendors, purchasing raw materials, logistics, inventory management, and vendor performance evaluation) is lean and efficient;· Regularly evaluate the capabilities and performance of vendors;· Monitor industry trends and key input costs that impact product cost and Company margin, with recommendations to ensure the Company takes advantage of opportunities while reducing risks due to any supply chain weaknessesSkills: · Strong business sense, positive attitude and a high energy level to support our growing manufacturing operations· Effective organizational skills with strong planning capabilities.· Very high attention to detail; cost driven with exceptional negotiation skills;· Strategic & forward thinker;· High customer service ethic to internal and external customers· Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills· MS Office with at least average keyboarding skillsWhat We Offer: · Dynamic, challenging work for talented individuals· A competitive salary· Comprehensive benefits package including paid vacation leave, registered group pension plan, and group benefits (including vision, dental, short-term/long disability, and life insurance)· Inclusive work environmentAbout Us….Our companies serve markets across North America in material handling and cylinder products.
