Job Description

General LabourerPermanent Full-TimeAbbotsford, BCReference Number: NWP-BC-ABB-143-020824SUMMARYReporting to the Plant Manager, the General Labourer wraps, bands, labels, counts, and identifies lumber using various lumber handling equipment.Expected Contributions

  • Operates lumber handling equipment at various wood stacking machinery.
  • Bands and wraps lumber.
  • Occasionally hand piles wood.
  • Services production machines.
  • Maintains a clean and organized yard.
  • Adheres to all work safety rules and regulations.
  • Adheres to customer service commitments.
RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to count and identify various lumber products.
  • Experience working in a lumber mill or lumber yard is desirable.
  • Must have own steel-toed boots.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds or 23 kilograms.
  • Bending, lifting, and reaching during course of shift.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Forklift certification is an asset.
  • Level Three First Aid is an asset.

  • Monday to Friday, 2:30pm to 11:00pm
