More information can be found here.Bring your strong administrative experience and superior organizational skills to this challenging positionThe BC Prosecution Service (BCPS) contributes to the protection of society by preparing for and conducting prosecutions diligently and fairly, and by striving to develop the most effective methods to administer justice in the Province. The Assistant Deputy Attorney General (ADAG) is responsible for the administration of the BCPS, which is divided into Headquarters, Criminal Appeals and Special Prosecutions (CASP) and five regions, each led by a Regional Crown Counsel. The BCPS prosecutes offences under the Criminal Code of Canada, the Youth Criminal Justice Act and Provincial Statutes in the Provincial, Supreme and Appeal Courts of British Columbia and in the Supreme Court of Canada. The BCPS also provides legal advice to government and police on criminal law matters and develops policies and procedures on issues relating to the prosecution of criminal offences.As a member of the Strategic Information & Business Application unit of BC Prosecution Service Headquarters, this position provides business, functional and technical expertise for the DEMS application, which is in the final stages of development and expected to be implemented starting in the fall of 2022. The DEMS solution will electronically connect to police systems, include tools to assist with file management, make available case-related information from JUSTIN, and electronically share disclosure packages with defence counsel and self-represented accused, all from the same technology application. The Junior DEMS Business Analyst provides primary user support for the DEMS application consulting with other members of the DEMS and JUSTIN application teams to provide resolution of issues. This position also provides procedural support (best practices development, maintaining the DEMS training database and training materials, communications, testing and release documentation) and training in all aspects of the DEMS application for users across the BC Prosecution Service (BCPS).The Junior DEMS Business Analyst assists to ensure the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the DEMS application. This position works within the context of various individual projects related to the DEMS application involving other Justice partners such as Police, Courts, and Corrections. This role requires sound judgement and excellent organizational abilities.   • Diploma, Certification or Equivalent in information technology, public/business administration or a related discipline (may include completion of a recognized Paralegal or Project Management Certificate). An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a legal office environment. Preference may be given to those with experience working in a criminal justice setting.
  • Minimum of 3 years (preferably 4 years) of experience using digital evidence and disclosure management software, may include experience using electronic disclosure solutions, document management or litigation management software.
  • Experience managing projects from initiation to completion.
  • Experience developing and/or administering training plans, tools and learning resources.
  • Experience using business analysis tools and methods in an information technology environment.

  • On call availability over some weekends may also be a requirement (TBD).
