Job Summary: The Assistant, Supply Chain coordinates the purchase of products and materials for the organization. Their duties include building and maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers, conducting research to identify materials and products, and handling administrative responsibilities related to purchases, order tracking, purchase agreements and product records. For more information, see the Position Description above. Qualifications:Minimum one (1) year of post-secondary education in related courses such as office skills, accounting and purchasing. Active enrolment in either the SMT Program or the SCMP Program (Supply Chain Canada) or equivalent. Minimum two (2) years of recent experience within a purchasing department specializing in active purchasing procedures. Proficient in Microsoft Office and the ability to be a quick learner with additional UFV specific computer programs, including Banner. Familiarity with public institutions processes and procedures. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Adaptable and flexible in response to frequent requests or changing needs of the department, clients, and stakeholders.
