Job Summary:The Business Manager, Office of the Provost and Vice President (VP), Academic is responsible for overseeing the administrative management and operational activities for the Office of the Provost and VP Academic. The incumbent plays a key role in managing the overall budgetary processes for the division including working with multiple departments to meet defined budget allocations and ensure that financial monitoring system are established. The position supports the Provost in reviewing and monitoring hiring processes, performance management processes and other matters involving confidential labour relations.The Business Manager provides highly confidential support and assists in the coordination of resources, budgets, schedules, and information to meet the needs of the division and to enhance the effectiveness of services.Please see the Position Description link above for more information.Qualifications:Undergraduate degree in a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.Five to seven years of related work experience and/or project management experience, preferably in a post-secondary environment.Proven experience in financial management (budgeting, reporting).Demonstrated supervisory experience.Proven ability to work with minimal or no supervision, multi-task, and work to tight deadlines with conflicting priorities.Familiarity with UFV’s governance processes is preferred.Experience dealing with Ministry offices, external agencies/institutions, and other governing/regulating bodies is an asset.Values indigenization, equity, diversity, and inclusion including valuing differing perspectives and backgrounds; leading by example to create a truly respectful and diverse work environment.Proven ability to create and implement plans including the ability to shape, align and execute key strategic priorities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to foster collaborative working relationships.Proven ability to make effective decisions.Ability to lead change and remain flexible and adaptable during changing circumstances.Strong technical/computer skills (Office 365 suite of programs) with some familiarity of data analytic software preferred.About UFV:The University of the Fraser Valley is located on the traditional territory of the Halqeméylem-speaking peoples.
