Job Synopsis There are nine MCC Thrift Shops in BC that are a vital part of our ministry. The Thrift Shops sell donated clothing, books, furniture, and other items to raise income for the ministry of MCC BC. The shop is a ministry in and of itself providing low-cost goods to people in our community, promoting good stewardship, and protecting the environment by recycling items that might otherwise be thrown away. The shop also provides a sense of community to volunteers and the people we serve through social interaction in a caring environment.The Donations Processor & Retail Assistant assists with receiving and processing donated goods, sorting, pricing, and organization of work areas. This role will also assist the retail area with customer service and merchandising as needed. This position involves working in a respectful and caring way alongside volunteers with special needs, as well as a significant senior volunteer population.This is a 40 hour/week summer position available June 2023 for up to 14 weeks pending on funding under the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
