Job Description

Electrical E.I.T, KD Electrical Consultant Ltd - Abbotsford or Vancouver BC.The Krahn Group of Companies is a full-service multi-discipline engineering firm specializing in commercial, industrial and residential development design. Over the past 30 years, we have established a reputation in Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario, for providing the most innovative, comprehensive and cost-effective solutions to clients.KD Electrical Consultant Ltd is looking for an Electrical E.I.T to join their team in Abbotsford or Vancouver BC.Your role as an electrical designer will be to aid in the design of electrical systems for diverse building types including office, commercial, residential, institutional, light industrial and more. You will be provided with mentorship and opportunities for personal and career growth while contributing to the economic prosperity of various communities and helping clients achieve their goals. You will be provided guidance on creating designs that are sustainable, safe, code-compliant, cost-effective and timely. You will report to an Electrical Manager.Responsibilities:

  • Guided design of lighting and lighting controls, Power systems, Data layouts (horizontal structured cabling) Life-safety systems (fire alarm, exit signage, emergency lighting, etc.)
  • Perform electrical calculations for power usage, lighting levels, power density, fault currents, equipment sizing, etc.
  • Prepare drawings suitable for the building permit, tender and construction.
  • Aiding in construction administration: Attending field reviews, reviewing shop drawings, preparing site instructions and change orders, and reviewing pricing and alternate design options.
  • Coordinating with other disciplines including but not limited to architects, interior designers, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, etc.
  • Coordinating with utility providers to provide services to the site.
  • Coordinating with Authorities Having Jurisdiction to meet their requirements.
  • Attend client meetings and liaise with clients and colleagues.
Qualifications:
  • Post Secondary education in Electrical Engineering
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD is required, Revit is a strong asset
  • Experience with lighting design software is an asset
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu is an asset
  • Construction or project management experience is an asset
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English required
  • A valid drivers license
  • Proven organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail
