Position: Heavy Duty Technician /Mechanic Position Type: Full timeLocation: Abbotsford, BCPosition OverviewVelocity Truck Centre / First Truck Centre has an exciting opening for a Journeyman / 4th year Apprentice Heavy Duty Service Technician at our Abbotsford, BC branch. Primary Job Functions
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain OEM class 6,7,8 vehicles, trailers, truck mounted cranes, and Hi-Rail equipment.
  • Ensure professional quality detail and craftsmanship
  • Implement workflow procedures and continuous improvement initiatives for the department
Qualifications
  • Strong aptitude for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance
  • Commercial Transport (Truck and Transport Mechanic) Journeyman Certificate (or Red Seal)
  • Heavy Truck and Trailer subject matter expert
  • Heavy Duty Mechanic experience with on highway trucks.
  • Self-starter able to work in a fast-paced, detailed, and process-driven environment
  • Ability to work in a physical capacity, including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift
  • Must have own tools (required tool list will be provided)
  • Class 5 driver #39;s license
  • Class 1, Class 3, and MVI Certifications are a bonus
