Job Summary:The Manager, Student Support Centre provides leadership, overall direction, planning and administration of the Student Support Centre (SSC). They promote and coordinate campus-wide student support programming and case management which emphasizes student development and encourages academic success, resiliency and retention.The Manager, Student Support Centre participates in defining strategic goals for the SSC and develops, implements, and maintains policies and procedures related to the delivery of services for students. This includes designing, developing, supporting and facilitating various elements of student support programming for at-risk students.The Manager oversees and maintains a budget that supports that overall operation of the SSC. They liaise with internal and external partners and stakeholders to maintain and improve services to students. In all aspects, the Student Support Coordinator will work highly collaboratively with Campus Partners such as Faculty, Student Services, Academic Advising, the Academic Success Centre, Counselling, the Centre for Accessibility Services, and other professional units and colleagues from across campus.For more information, see the Position Description link above.Qualifications:Undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution required.Five (5) years directly related experience in student case management at the post-secondary level, including one (1) year experience managing teams.A proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively and to participate in consultative decision-making.Ability to effectively supervise and lead staff.Demonstrated skills and experience in program design and delivery, including associated training and program evaluation.Experience in designing, promoting, and delivering peer-to-peer support programs.Strong presentation and facilitation skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, the ability to navigate challenging student situations.Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.Excellent knowledge of MS Office and web applications.Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.About UFV:The University of the Fraser Valley is located on the traditional territory of the Halqeméylem-speaking peoples.
