Job Summary:The Assistant, Centre for Experiential and Career Education (CECE) provides front-line reception and support to the CECE Department. The Assistant acts as an initial office contact and provides assistance and information to faculty, staff, internal administrators and members of the University community as well as external stakeholders on matters pertaining to the Centre for Experiential and Career Education. The incumbent responds to inquiries, problem solving as appropriate and following up as required.The Assistant is the primary user and administrator of student/stakeholder engagement software. The Assistant creates and modifies systems to increase Centre efficiency. The Assistant maintains calendars, schedules meetings and appointments, creates and maintains confidential files, carries out established processes and systems, assists in all forms of communication, along with other administrative support duties.For more information, see Position Description link above.Qualifications:Completion of a recognized certificate in office administration form a recognized post-secondary institution.Minimum three (3) years’ experience working in an office environment.Knowledge of the Centre for Experiential and Career Education, its programs, and services.Proven experience interacting with students, faculty, employers, and community stakeholders.Experience working in a university setting.Experience in a career services or Co-op Ed environment an asset.Strong office, proofreading, and organizational skills.Proven experience in digital communications, social media, and engagement strategies.Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Terminal 4, FAST, and Banner.Experience with providing support for special events, marketing strategies, and engagement strategies.Understanding of digital and print marketing design principles and awareness of design software (such as Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Publisher, Canva, etc.) an asset.Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.This position requires work at multiple campus locations (Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, and Hope), and working flexible hours including evenings and weekends, personal and reliable transportation.About UFV:The University of the Fraser Valley is located on the traditional territory of the Halqeméylem-speaking peoples.
