Job Description

Operations AdministratorAbbotsford, BCFull Time, On-siteReference Number: NWT-BC-ABB-130-200624SUMMARYReporting to the Plant Manager, the Operations Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with shipping and production coordinating at the plants in Prince George and Abbotsford.Expected Contributions:

  • Assist with data entry of production and shipping tallies into an inventory management system.
  • Review a detailed inventory position report to plan production priorities and schedules daily.
  • Review inventory position reports for variances in treating volumes and plan production requirements to achieve inventory goals.
  • Review inventory requirements for five distribution centers across the Prairie region, plan truck runs to fulfill the branch needs.
  • Support production needs by providing labels and work orders to manufacturing.
  • Review inbound and outbound shipment documents to confirm order accuracy.
  • Assist with load diagrams for trucks and rail orders to maximize freight utilization and balance load weights.
  • Provide updates to management on status of work orders and daily production.
  • Support MRP implementation at other manufacturing sites within Canada.
  • Assist with invoicing customer orders and inventory transfers.
  • Conduct spot inventory cycle counts.
  • Assist with other duties as required.
  • Adheres to all work safety rules and regulations.
RequirementsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Lumber manufacturing or lumber yard experience an asset
  • Minimum two years’ related experience an asset
  • Knowledge of inventory administration, and shipping and receiving in a computerized system
  • Knowledge of load planning to optimize freight and build transportation routes
  • Able to communicate effectively with internal staff and work in a team-focused environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and an aptitude for planning
  • Aptitude for details and solid math skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
